I'm absolutely blown away, definitely a hidden gym of New York. It's a really tiny spot tucked off in the corner with really quick service and FANTASTIC soup. This was my 1st time here and I ordered a large lobster bisque with even sampling it and I was extremely worried but it was only like 7 bucks so I said screw it. Once I got a chance to taste it I was in COMPLETE HEAVEN. It had the perfect amount lobster and the broth was amazingly dense which made it even more DELICIOUS. I can't wait to get back to try the others!!

This is my favorite lunch spot in this area for work days! They update their list of soups for the day via their Facebook page, so definitely check that out before you go. I've tried at least 10 of their soups and have not been disappointed!  Great, well priced, lunch with a complimentary slice of bread and an apple on the side. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a to-go lunch!

Simple, hole in the wall soup spot with great selection and rotating soups. Choose between ~20 soups with a side of bread and an apple at a very affordable price. Very popular in the winter with lines that can stretch down the block, but well worth the wait!

This was my first time there. Tiny spot but quick service. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich with minestrone soup. The soup stayed hot until I got back to my office which is only about a five minute walk. Comes with bread and an apple. Don't worry about picking up a spoon they put a napkin and a spoon in the little baggie with the bread and apple. Yummy and a good price for a cold day. FYI they do run out of things so have a second choice or third choice ready.

So happy to have discovered this little gem, just a block away from where my office moved. The seafood bisque is delicious!

Best lunch spot in the area for soup. $6 for a large and $5 for a small of any kind of soup. They often have seafood soups as well as your classics. It comes with a piece of bread and a fruit (usually an apple or an orange). The soups also clearly indicate Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegetarian for dietary restrictions. Take out only, cash and credit accepted. There is also a promo for a free small soup after 10 purchases. Just track it with your phone number. If you check their Facebook page, they upload the menu daily so you can see what the soup selections are. My favorites are anything with crab, their gumbos, and their classic New England Clam Chowder. The bisques can be a bit salty for my taste. They also offer combos to complete your lunch that comes with either a sandwich or side salad for $3 more. The sandwiches/wrap are pre-made fresh but kind of boring. The star of the show are definitely the soups. They are flavorful, well-made, and have the right amount of spices and seasoning. There is a reason why during lunch time, there is a long line of people waiting to get their soups. Don't let the line discourage you because they move pretty quickly.

Hole-in-the-Wall takeout. Rotation of about 12 soups. Super cheap lunch option. The Mexican Wedding is a reliable favorite of regulars.

Four stars. Came to this place in between the transferring time at Penn Station. They give you samples if you ask for tasting. The lobster shrimp and salmon bisque was a bit salty and very heavy with cream. I can't imagine how much calories in the cup there must have been. The soup came with a piece of bread and an apple. A good portion for lunch. I tasted several other soups but in the end they all started to taste the same: creamy and salty. I saw a girl taking out an order mixing multiple soups. Not sure if that's a good idea but given their similar taste profile, I guess it could work. I would come back again next time if I have a long waiting time for a train at Penn. It's a safe place for a quick grab since the line moves very quickly.

Went there for lunch because my associate wanted to try it. What a great little place. It is right across the street from Madison Square Garden. When we walked in we were greeted warmly by the soup server behind the counter. They had numerous vats of soup to choose from and he offered us tastes of as many as we wanted. They had at least 8-10 option this day. After having 3 different tastes I decided upon the "small combo" which is a small soup with a half sandwich. I went with the Italian wedding soup with meatballs and the Italian combo sandwich. The service was fast, friendly and funny. The two gentlemen behind the counter had great personalities and loved to joke around with the customers while getting your order. The meal also comes with a piece of French bread and an apple. As a little extra bonus the guys gave my female associate a chocolate chip cookie...probably because she bought lunch. This place would probably even be better on a cold wintery day when you want a nice big hot bowl of soup in the big city. I will definitely go back and keep this on my places to eat when I am in NYC and near MSG.

Great soup!!!! Very simple fare but a good serving of soup, a piece of bread, an apple and a pleasant cookie as a treat. What’s not to love.

Best soup!  Fresh and delish!  Fast and speedy service.  Lots of options.  Old school split pea soup w/ the tiny bits o ham!  Great chicken soup for days feeling under the weather.  Excellent New England Clam Chowder.  I could go on and on they have such great soup. They have a great "rewards" program too!  After 10 soups you get a free one!  Clean, fast, excellent customer service.  If theres a line, jump on and get a great cup o soup!  1/2 sandwiches available too. :)

Great little place to have a quick affordable bite (slurp) of comfort. Service with a smile AND a free cookie (I think it helped to be there near closing time)   There were more than a dozen choices including veggie and gluten/dairy free options. Comes with a generous piece of baguette and a fresh apple.

One of the great places to have soups. They have multiple options and you can try before you buy. The clam chowder soup is one of the best ones. They carry vegetarian options, fresh sea food soup options. A little pricy but worth it.

I come here almost daily and have not had a bad soup (or even a mediocre soup) yet.  Yes, it's tiny, but you can't beat the soups especially for the price.  You guys are awesome!

If I'm in the mood for soup, this is the spot for me! The guys are so friendly and they let you sample. There are so many different soups and everyday is a different selection. I usually check on their Facebook page for a list of what they have for the day. One time my coworker said he wasn't feeling so well, so one of the guys made him his own concoction of soup (I think chicken noodle + lentil) and hot sauce. My coworker said it really helped with his congestion. I haven't had a soup I didn't like here but I do wish I could have their chowders or bisque but I'm lactose intolerant, so definitely a no go during work.

I have found heaven and it is this soup!! First of all, I can almost never order soup because broth and stock, especially chicken, has cornstarch msg (as nutritional/yeast extractor bullion)- and I'm allergic. So I was overjoyed that there's none! They knew all ingredients, and were so nice about questions. It came pretty quickly even in rain, delivery guy was nice, price was good. And you know a place cares when soup comes with fresh light bread and an apple! The lentil veggie is unreal, lots of veggies, not heavy or oily, flavourful and filling! Chicken was so fresh, with dumping-like noodles they're so light and fluffy! I'm recovering from wisdom teeth out and not feeling great, and this totally made my day better!

I decided to try the Soup Spot since I'm currently getting over a cold and wanted some good chicken noodle in the area (and not "same ol" Hale & Hearty). The soup was exactly the way I wanted. The broth was fresh and the soup as a whole was well balanced (right amount of noodles/chicken pieces) and tasty. I added a little pepper to mine due to my sinuses blocking my taste buds, but it was not a necessity. As stated in the other reviews, they include bread and an apple in your bag. The place itself is extremely small (I mean can-only-fit-about-seven-people-at-a-time small). But it's a perfect spot to stop and go (the line moves extremely quick, even during lunch). But the best part about this place is that it's super affordable compared to other spots in the area ($6 for a large soup). With good soup and good prices, I will definitely be returning.
